i love how these game jam submissions are a mix of this high quality game, some scratch games and my trash naughts and crosses as the odd one out lol
The model for santa is quite large for the play area. Some presents are off screen so its kinda just avoiding stuff longer and not focusing on the presents. Because of the model size we are disincentivized to move left or right as this gives less time for the wrench objects.
Thanks for Telling Me! I made Santa smaller and made the presents spawn only on the screen and added incentive to get presents by the score going down slowly.
It feels better with the presents only on screen but I think the hitbox of santa doesn't match the model now. Getting some collisions below and to the right more than visually expected. Awesome turnaround on the updates though!
I was definitely able to play longer and get a higher score with the changes and understanding that I had to be more careful of my feet was something I could adjust for once discovered.
